Special Order Quantitative MRE-PDFF Phantom

For simultaneous testing and quality assurance of both MRE stiffness and MRI PDFF measurements

MRE Phantom Features

  • Black polypropylene housing with a diameter of 6.13" and a height of 5.13".  The phantom holds approximately 77 oz. of gel.
  • Available in (2.5 / 0%), (4.0 , 0%), (2.5, 20%), (4.0, 20%) [kPa/%PDFF]. Custom values are available with stiffness between 2-4kPa and PDFF of 10, 20, 30, and 40%.
  • MRE Verification of mechanical stiffness and MRI verification of PDFF at 3T is included with purchase.
  • Order includes an MRI Conditional custom case that can be safely stored inside the MRI suite.
  • This phantom is currently available as a Special Order because it requires manufacturing processes that are different from those documented in the Calimetrix Quality Management System for standard products.

Clinical Relevance of Stiffness Quantification

Over 100 million Americans suffer from metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD, formerly known as NAFLD). Commercially available quantitative magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) methods can non-invasively detect and measure important features of MASLD. Highly controlled and reliable test objects, or “phantoms”, are needed to perform quality assurance of these quantitative MRE methods.
