Clinical Relevance of T2 Quantification
MRI-based T2 quantification can be useful for diagnosis, quantitative grading, and treatment monitoring of inflammation and fibrosis in the heart or muscle, including that seen in rejection from heart transplant. It can also be useful for assessing iron overload in the heart and liver tissue.
